Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. This city offers many hotels, attractions and activities for travellers.

Where to stay:

1. Waikiki is the most popular area for tourists, teeming with hotels, restaurants, and shops. Mid-priced to luxury hotels:

2. Downtown Honolulu – A quieter area with proximity to the business centre and historical sites.

3. Ala Moana – close to Hawaii’s largest outdoor shopping mall, Ala Moana Shopping Centre.

What to see:

1. Waikiki Beach – famous beach, perfect for surfing, walking or just relaxing in the sun.
2. Diamond Head is a famous volcanic crater that offers stunning views of Honolulu. You can hike up the hiking trail to the top for a breathtaking panoramic view.
3. Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial – Sites dedicated to the memory of those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
4. Iolani Palace – the only royal palace on U.S. soil.
5. Chinatown – historic district with many shops, restaurants and markets.
6. Bishop Museum – a museum that showcases Hawaiian and Pacific history.
7. Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium are great places for families.
8. Kapiolani Park is a beautiful city park for picnics, walks, and sporting events.
9. Manoa Falls – a short walking trail that leads to a scenic waterfall.

With Honolulu being Hawaii’s largest city, there are plenty of activities and attractions. Most importantly, however, is enjoying Hawaiian culture, the beauty of nature and the hospitality of the locals.

Maui, one of the main Hawaiian islands, is known for its breathtaking scenery, beaches, mountains, and of course, waterfalls. The waterfalls on Maui are magnificent natural attractions, many of which are easily accessible to tourists. Here is a brief overview of some of them:

1. Twin Falls – One of the most accessible waterfalls on Maui, Twin Falls is located at the beginning of the road to Hana. This waterfall is known for its two streams that flow into a common pool.
   
2. Wailua Falls – This waterfall is located near the road to Hana and is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Hawaii. It falls from a height of 80 feet (approximately 24 metres) and is easily visible from the road.
3. Makahiku Falls and Waimoku Falls – Both of these waterfalls can be seen while hiking the Pipiwai Trail. Makahiku Falls falls from a height of 185 feet (56 metres), while Waimoku Falls is one of the highest waterfalls on Maui, falling from a height of 400 feet (122 metres).
4. Three Bears Falls is another popular waterfall on the road to Hana, which gets its name because of the three separate streams falling from different heights.
5. Pools of Oheo (or Seven Sacred Pools) – While not a classic waterfall, these natural pools formed by streams falling from the mountains are one of the most popular places to visit on the east side of Maui.

In addition to the aforementioned waterfalls, there are numerous other lesser known but equally beautiful waterfalls on Maui, many of which are hidden deep in the jungle or require hiking tours to visit.
